Work Experience

  • 1970-75: Teaching art in the Ladue School District
  • 1971: Passed a rigorous, two-day exam in Chicago and was accepted into United Scenic Artists, one of the oldest and most respected unions of skilled workers in the USA. I began painting scenery at the Saint Louis Municipal Opera that summer.
  • 1973: Began working on a Masters Degree in Art Education at Webster University, which I completed in 1974.
  • 1975: Admitted into the Masters Degree Program at Pratt Institute of Art in Brooklyn, New York.
  • 1977: Graduated with Masters Degree in the fine art of painting.
  • Transferred membership from the Chicago local of United Scenic Artists to the New York local. From that time on, I worked with exceptionally talented people in all manner of stage and film production. The work was the highest professional level of anywhere in the world. Painting and sculpting scenery in New York for 37 years was the greatest experience in my professional life.
